The TIS PL network in France
In France, HGV ETC has been operational since 2nd May 2007 and today operates across the whole French motorway network, which is almost 8200 km of motorways. It is known by the acronym of TIS PL (Télépéage Inter-Sociétés Poids Lourds: Inter-Company ETC HGV)
This new service facilitates and accelerates the transit of vehicles in the categories 3 and 4 at the toll gates (motorways, tunnels, bridges...) As from 1st April 2008, it will also be the only way to gain access to the discount programmes of the motorway companies.
